Staying in Costa Central

Sotogrande Costa Central runs directly from the Kings and Queens area of Sotogrande and includes all of the A Zone and B Zone roads in Sotogrande (roads that start with the letter A or B), along with Galerias Paniagua and the areas around the “Our Lady of Merced” Church in Sotogrande.

Galerias Paniagua is one of the oldest commercial centres in the area, but is still the thriving heart of Sotogrande and is where the International School used to be before they outgrew their premises and moved up towards the Almenara Hotel and La Reserva Club and Estate.

Within the Galerías Paniagua commercial centre, you will find:

  • Videola – a newspaper and gift shop
  • A pharmacy/chemist
  • Romain Dominique – Hairdressers and beauty salon
  • Petit Bistro – Cafe/restaurant open for breakfast and lunch
  • BlackMouth Coffee – Cafe/Restaurant open for breakfast and lunch
  • Lombardo´s Restaurant – an Italian restaurant that is very popular with the locals as well as holidaymakers (always a good sign!)
  • New Delhi Indian Restaurant
  • Gaucho’s Argentine Restaurant

Just a little closer to the A7 main road, you will find the Centro Commercial Sotomarket where there are a number of supermarkets, shops, cafés, a medical centre, and other service providers:

Supercor – open Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 9.30pm
Mercadona – open Monday to Saturday, 9 am, to 9.30pm
Humanline medical centre – open 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday. Note Helicopteros Sanitarios is an English speaking 24-hour emergency medical centre located about 15 minutes away that provides emergency and general medical assistance. They also offer ambulance/paramedic/GP home visits for both emergency and non-emergency treatment.
Properties in the A and B Zones of Sotogrande range from 3 or 4 bedroom villas to some very large villas on sizeable plots. However, as the A and B Zones were one of the first areas of Sotogrande to be developed, the quality and age of the installations along with their specifications can vary significantly.

In addition, you will find a number of smaller developments or urbanisations in Sotogrande Costa Central, such as La Loma, Los Granados, and El Casar, which offer smaller to mid-sized townhouse type of accommodation with communal swimming pools. These properties are generally occupied all year round by local residents, but a holiday rental here could be an option for anyone wanting to stay in Sotogrande Costa Central area, but with a more limited budget.

As there is such a range of properties available in terms of a number of bedrooms, specification, and installations, build and plot size, there are many options to suit a variety of budgets.
